Should i say hi!? or better hello?! Well, if you are reading me right now, thank you for your priceless time, i know you are busy and still here you are...because sometimes, life work that way, we start clicking and clicking, overwhelm with all responsibilities and we just go on and on until one day we are just doing whatever you are doing without really knowing how you get there.

That is my story, i am here writing how the fork i got here, there is no magical story here, like most people, i came from a hard working parents, when to college, got a degree as Journalist and another as Lawyer in my origin country Venezuela.

Long Story short i live now in United States which wasn't my plan, but once again, life happens. Came to visit family in 2015 with just a backpack, meet an incredible guy who is now my husband and father of my son and that is how i got to live here.

When i was kid, i always loved be around my mommy in the kitchen, she was always worried that i could burned my hand or my face trying to help her, so when i turned 14 year old, she helped me get into a cuisine program to become a junior chef but unfortunately after a year taking cooking classes, i couldn't finish, it was way to expensive for my mom to pay, i didn't blame her, she was the household of my home and with life comes priorities, and i keep cooking like forever at home, one day life hit me hard, my mom pass away and i needed to finish my degree, i had no money or savings, so one day in my depressive life at that time i decided to bake a few cupcakes just to share with my college friend as way to say thanks for all support.

Those ugly and strangely tasty cupcakes change my life, my friends really enjoy it, a few of them asked me to bake more and they offered to pay for it, so i did. Few weeks after that, i was already selling cupcakes all around campus, even teacher ordered from me, it was just like god caring of me.

That humble act change the way i saw baking, i develop a new perspective, i keep on baking, cookies, cakes, rolls, but everything was really amateur.

Time flies and just baked when i could, nothing fancy, and i did it part time as a hobbies. When my son was born, i found myself with no job and a little baby on my arms, i started to think what i could do to stay at home and generate money, and like most of women i though since a knew baking, why not to try, opened a business Instagram account and posted every single dessert i baked no matter how terrible it looked.

What i didn't know was, something that was just a hobbies for me, now its something that i am working so hard to succeed in, i challenge myself everyday, i get inspired by other huge bakers, i discover my style, and funny thing, now i rarely bake cupcakes.

If you think my story will end like a successful story in which i tell you i am millionaire and have my front store, you are so mistaking me, i am still working damn hard to get people to know me, i have conquer my fear but not yet the industry.

I bake with my heart and the conviction that in a close future i will have my front store and some of you will go and tell me: hey you know what, you should change the ending of your blog! and i will laugh about it.

I got from journalist to baker by fortune, i didn't plan it, just life happen and i felt madly in-love with the biggest industry of all, bakery. So if you ask me now why i keep doing it? i Would answer:

Because i love baking stories, behind every dessert i have ever bake there the story of other person, because we celebrate life with sweets, and those sweets in that moment represent something really important.

Wish me luck and Support my small business, read me next time,

Xoxo, Genesis
